
Jeff Armistead - keys, vocals
Born and raised in Motown, Jeff draws upon the sights and sounds
of his hometown: Detroit, Michigan as a major influence in his
writing and playing style. Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye,
The Temptations, etc. Early Punk and Rock Artists such as
Iggy and the Stooges and Ted Nugent influence the heavier side.
The Motor City is also known as the “Birthplace of Techno”.
Artists such as Derrick May, “The Wizard”-Jeff Mills, Carl Craig,
Kevin Saunderson, Plastikman aka. Richie Hawtin, and
“The Electrifying Mojo” are major influences in Jeff’s electronica.
He also credits the great city of New Orleans, LA for opening his
eyes to the funkier side of jazz or jazzier side of funk............?
”Having the opportunity to share the stage with many of my
contemporary idols has been much of the inspiration of late.
Artists like John Gros (Papa Grows Funk), Neal Evans (Soulive),
John Medeski, Ivan Neville (Dumpstafunk) and Robert Walter.
“I think that the music that we write together as Little Hercules
is the ultimate combination of all of my influences.”

Brian Loftus - drums, vocals
Brian grew up in Middletown, CT with Scott Kabel.
He started playing drums and music a the age of 5 and
moved on to Berklee College of Music after high school.
Continued to have a career in Music in California for 15 years.
Played with a wide range of musicians from John Lee Hooker to
Joan Baez to Baba Tunde Olatunji to the Gatlin Brothers.
And from Huey Luis to Nicolette Larson to Russ Kunkel
Brian made the move from “sideman” to “band member” when he
moved from California to Colorado in 2005 and reconnected with
his old friend Scott and Little Hercules.
Brian hopes to achieve great successes with Little Hercules and is
always looking forward to the future.............

Little Hercules formed in the small Rocky Mountain railroad town of Minturn, Colorado in 1998. Little Hercules was originally noticed by the Grammy nominated band, Liquid Soul, and toured with the band beginning in the year 2000. Life Time Grammy Achievement winner, and Funk pioneer, Leo Nocentelli (the Meters) started using Little Hercules as his Colorado back-up band in 2001. Little Hercules catalog of music has reached over 60 original songs
A glimpse into the future of funk juxtaposed with timeless spirit of music. Little Hercules are crusaders on the frontiers of rock. After spending time with New Orleans funk pioneers, the Meters, Papa Grows Funk, Wild Magnolias, Rebirth Brass Band, PBS, Zigaboo Modeliste, Boneramma with Fred Wesley, it seems inevitable that some “real deal” funk has rubbed off on Little Hercules
